Recovery of assets looted by corruption

Abstract

The Palestinian Anti-Corruption Act No. 1 of 2005 does not define the offence of corruption. The number of such offences in article 1 of this Act stipulates that the Palestinian Legislative Council, in its report issued in 1997, defines corruption as a departure from the provisions of the Act or its regulations or a violation of public policies adopted by the public official in order to reap benefits for him or another related person or to exploit.
