Abstract

This study addresses the nature of disability by clarifying its concept, defining it from a linguistic and medical perspective, mentioning its types, and identifying the medical authority responsible for assessing it. It also addresses the nature of permanent disability by clarifying its forms, concept, and definition, and how it occurs within the framework of Jordanian penal law and the medical authority responsible for assessing it. It also highlights the different approaches to the two concepts Whether they differ in meaning and are not related to each other without considering that every permanent disability constitutes a permanent disability, or whether they are two concepts that aim at the same meaning and considering that every permanent disability is a permanent disability, with a statement of the legal effects within the scope of criminalization and punishment resulting from each direction of them.
