The 7th of October Israeli aggression against the residents of the Gaza Strip As a crime of genocide In Light of International Humanitarian Law

Abstract
In this study, we were exposed to the fierce war carried out by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, against the civilian population of the Gaza Strip, following the storming of some Palestinian fighters into some of their headquarters and settlements established near the Gaza Strip area, which was called (the Al-Aqsa Flood). The Israeli occupation forces responded to this sudden attack with a brutal campaign on the same day against the residents of the Gaza Strip, which they called Operation “Iron Swords,” imposing an air, land, and sea blockade on the residents of the Strip and preventing all means of life, including water, food, fuel, and medicines. This is considered a crime of genocide. It involves the Israeli occupation army against the defenseless civilian population in the Gaza Strip. Whereas international humanitarian law prohibits any form of collective punishment against civilians. It is also considered a serious violation of the Geneva Convention of 1949, which prohibits collective punishment and prevents the crime of genocide carried out by the Israeli occupation against civilian residents of the Gaza Strip through aerial bombardment and the indiscriminate killing of thousands of civilians. Residents of the Gaza Strip and thousands of wounded and missing, the majority of whom are women and children.
